About Our Events

No membership, no fees, no sales pitches — just show up. Here's what to expect.

Who We Are

ArkanSec is Northwest Arkansas's hacker, InfoSec, & cybersecurity community. We look for creative ways to share information and experience with anyone interested in learning more about technology. Students, professionals, and hobbyists alike are encouraged to join us as we build a community dedicated to improving privacy, stability, and security. We're not affiliated with, owned by, or beholden to any security vendor or company — we're just here to share knowledge. There's no formal membership and no fees. If you're interested in privacy, stability, and security, you're already welcome.

The Monthly Security Download

We meet on the first Thursday of every month, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Each event follows the same loose structure:

Networking — grab a seat, meet people, talk shop before things kick off.

Security headlines — an open discussion of recent news and events from the InfoSec world.

Community-led presentation — a talk from a member or guest speaker, the main event of the night.

Proposing a Talk

Anyone can propose a talk — you don't need to be a regular or a professional speaker. Email information@arkansec.com with:

• Your name
• A brief bio
• An abstract of the talk

Proposals are reviewed by the board before a talk gets scheduled.
